The White Goddess is enthralling in every sense of the word as it flings the reader head-on into a chaos of desire and inspiration, deception and place. The spirit of place and the spirit of poetry orbit and constrict the figure of the Muse which is their liberation and their undoing.

Anyway, I apologise. The important thing to know about Holt is that Simon will be giving a reading there, in the lovely Holt bookshop, on 21st September. I (which is to say, Sam) will also be asking him questions about The White Goddess – and most importantly, you can too. So long as you show up.
