Once a week, and while submissions are open for the GBP Short Story Prize 2016/17, we'll be posting a short story for our friends and entrants to access freely.
First up is Lydia Davis’s ‘The Dreadful Mucamas’, chosen by GBP Short Story Prize judge Joanna Walsh. Of this choice, Joanna writes: “Think Davis is whimsical? Think again. Here's a microcosmic examination of the language used around power and race, played out via domesticity.”
‘The Dreadful Mucamas’ was published in Granta in 2011, and is free to access here.
