Revisiting last year's inaugural GBP Short Story Prize: JESSICA GREENMAN

The GBP Short Story Prize 2016/17 is currently open to submissions. While it is, once or twice a week we'll be looking at last year's fantastic longlist- and shortlistees, with links to their work.

Our fourth finalist, from last year’s shortlist of four authors, is:

JESSICA GREENMAN

Jessica Greenman is a writer and artist living in London. Her artwork has appeared at the Royal Academy. In 2009, she collaborated with Alice Oswald on Weeds and Wildflowers, which won the inaugural Ted Hughes Poetry Award. (Sarah Crown – one of this year’s GBP Short Story Prize judges, reviewed the book in the Guardian, and wrote: “In Weeds and Wild Flowers… Oswald takes the odd, evocative common names of plants and flowers and dreams up the characters behind them, in language as rich, gnarled and fabulous as Greenman's tangled, overblown etchings.”)

You can download Jessica’s illustrated story, ‘You Must Forget’, for £1, here.
