Calling all writers! We're very pleased to announce that the inaugural Galley Beggar Press Story Prize is open to submissions - judged by the directors of Galley Beggar (Eloise Millar and Sam Jordison) and also two wonderful award-winning novelists, Paul Ewen and Benjamin Myers.
We'll be offering publication in our Singles Club to all long-listed titles, as well as a choice of prize to the winner: either £500 or one-year's worth of editorial support for a writing project.
At Galley Beggar - like most small presses - finances mean that we can only ever publish a very small number of writers. But we're constantly looking at how we can support fine writing in other ways - and have introduced the prize as an sustainable way of nurturing originality, and offering a platform to the very best creative talent.
The GBP Short Story Prize is open worldwide and to both published and unpublished writers.
Further information and the submissions portal can be found here: http://galleybeggar.co.uk/2015-short-story-prize
